Arnold & Anita

The church proposal!

In 2014, Arnold and Anita met at HBT hotel where Anita worked with administration and Arnold joined in as manager. We are very grateful to the couple for going ahead to give us more detail about their journey together as below:

Arnold says “we became good friends, met each other’s family but later I started looking at a better part of her.
She is God fearing, calm, composed, dedicated to work and loves kids. I was afraid by the age difference and asked her if she was sure about this but she told me i am what she needed”. “She gave me her heart and I gave her my all, I call her my “cuppy cake”……he reveals.
“Towards the end of 2014 I moved to work in China,and in one of my travels to Dubai I met one of her cousins, Esther I told her about my intentions with Anita ,she welcomed the idea and gave me the tick and green light to go ahead.
Back to China, I dropped by a very pricey store and picked an engagement ring, I took it for blessing and when I returned to Uganda one day I asked her to meet me at Watoto Church where I was.
I remember it was during church rehearsals and people were allowed in.
When she came in, I told her I told her i was waiting for somebody. I then got on my knee, pulled out the ring and proposed ( cuppy cake, will you marry me) in front of God and in the presence of the church.
She was so amazed, excited and said “yes”. I then told her I was ready to officially meet her parents which she welcomed and we arranged the “kuhingira” and later started off with the wedding preparations.

And Anita says, we become very good friends, opened up to each other about everything and I found so much joy in him as my mentor, friend and partner.
“He actually didn’t have to ask me to start dating, we just got so close and found ourselves dating” she reveals
Towards the end of 2014, he left for China but we kept in touch. We have passed through some struggles together, depended on each other and our communication lines are so thick that no one can break them.
Two years ago on one of his visits to Uganda,one day he calls me, I remember I was in Ntinda and he told me to find him at Watoto church ( down town) for a meeting with some people. I found him seated inside and told me to go in where he proposed and ofcourse I said “yes”. It was so easy for me to accept since we were already so close…..

We got to shoot the wedding of these two love birds on 8.02.2019 when they walked down the aisle at Rubaga Cathedral and also got a blessing from Watoto church in such a glorious ceremony.
Anita was dressed in the trending ball gown and her girl squad in maroon dresses. The groom and his squad blended in so well with black suits.
They later hosted their guests to a splendid reception at UMA grounds lugogo graced by close family and friends.
