How to come up with a guest list for small events in the 2021 covid-19 era.

Covid-19 has taken the world by storm and has particularly affected the events industry. The ” many guests” trend is changing shape over night.

If you’re struggling to come up with a guest list for your event say wedding,kwanjula, kuhingira,etc to follow the government guidelines,know that you’re not alone. Many other people holding events this time round have to deal with it as well.

After making the decision to plan your event, the next question is who do you invite to celebrate with you on your special day?

Below is a guide to make it easy for you;

  1. Consider which guests are vital. I know this sounds silly,right! But there are those people you cannot imagine your special day without. Those guests are vital to you. These are likely the people you first told when you were engaged or the first ones you would share any life news with. Write down their names,call them or send a quick text to see if they are available for the day you’re planning to have your event. This helps you to determine if you have availability to invite other guests.
  2. Give the option to attend virtually. The world has gone digital and there is now an option of live streaming your special day. This way you’re increasing the chance to include more dear ones. Think of those who are okay with this arrangement and liaise with them on their opinion of which video platform is more favorable ( could be zoom,Facebook live,Instagram live,etc). Remember to go out of your way and make the virtual guests feel included by allowing them request a song or make a speech because they are as well dear to you or your spouse as those physically present.
  3. Plan a celebration for a later date. For some people, the idea of not having certain friends and family at their event is devastating. If you’re still looking to tie the knot now in a scientific wedding,consider hosting the bigger party later. It could be planning your first wedding anniversary with a great party surrounded with all your loved ones.

It is impossible to delay social events till the whole pandemic is over because you do not know when. Therefore we need to know how to plan accordingly. We are here to help you make informed decisions and enjoy your special days with no pressure.
